Four years ago, our family's world changed in an instant.

Our beautiful third daughter experienced a traumatic birth and suffered a hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE) event. Within moments, she was taken for cooling therapy, a treatment that gives babies the best possible chance after a lack of oxygen at birth.

Today, she is an energetic, thriving four-year-old who is living her best life. Every single day, we're grateful for the incredible medical research and advances that gave her this opportunity… if others hadn’t invested in critical research, we know her story could have been very different.

It is so amazing that the cooling therapy, for so many babies, prevents a life with CP. 

That's why our family wants to give back and help those children with mild CP to access medical treatment that could greatly lessen their symptoms. 

We're fundraising to support groundbreaking cerebral palsy research through the NeuroCORD-CP trial, giving other children and families the same hope that we were given.

The NeuroCORD-CP Trial

The NeuroCORD-CP trial is designed for young children with cerebral palsy who have access to their own, or a sibling's, stored umbilical cord blood. By combining cord blood treatment with evidence-based rehabilitation, researchers hope to better understand whether this approach can improve movement and other important developmental outcomes.

The trial will be conducted at Monash Children's Hospital and will follow children aged six months to five years over 12 months to measure the impact of the treatment.

It costs $20,000 to provide one child with access to the cord blood treatment and specialised rehabilitation as part of this trial.

Every dollar raised will help bring this life-changing research closer to more Australian families.
