Be positive and happy!!
I was a high school student when one of my relatives had given a premature birth in a jeep which was made of few iron rods and some kind of hard plastic. The family in that remote village did not have any hospital or medical centers other than a dispensary run by nuns by a convent and they were not experienced medical practitioners but the whole villagers from even neighboring villages came to this convent as that was the only place they could go. My family was not different. She had premature pains they took her to the dispensary. The nun examined and said cant find anything but since she is in pain take her to a hospital. As they were nearing the convent gate she delivered in the jeep. So they went back in. And the new born was wrapped in wool and enough cloths to travel to a hospital and the mother was bleeding could not get any after care of a delivery. So they started their journey through bumpy humpy roads up hill and down hill to the nearest hospital which around 45 Kilometers through the uneven half gravel and muddy roads. Half way the lady holding the new born realized that the body in her hand wrapped and cuddled to her chest has become a frozen body that the infant was died. But had to continue the journey as the mothers condition was getting worse. Finally they reached, got treatment for mother the newborns dead body was preserved until mother got discharged. That was a big shock in my life. I have seen villagers with accidents from buildings and work and with serious illness died just because they could not receive instant medical help in time. Most often I hear that people die half way through their journey to get to a good hospital. My heart goes out to those people who live in remote areas and have no access to medical help. My life is to get something done for that. And even today my parents travel 5 to 6 hours to get to a multi specialty hospital and I want to make a difference to that for the upcoming generations.
I have a greater exposure to people with Disabilities. I do not have greater resources or financial background to help out people in need. But I have my ways of doing something if that helps one life to be happy and have some difference in their lives I will be the happiest person. I see parents, grandparents and different organizations help children with cerebral palsy and their needs increases day by day as we can use greater technology into our day to day life in getting things done for these children. It is quite obvious that these children are extremely intelligent and they can intellectually surpass many physically abled individuals!! I wish all possible positive outcomes for all those who suffer with different Disabilities and wish they all get their goals achieved and have life of quality!!
